Aluminium is an incredibly lightweight material, making it perfect for marine and aviation applications. Compared to steel it is lighter and easier to machine into a wide variety of shapes.

Aluminium has a very high natural resistance to corrosion, so it can be used outdoors or in very humid environments such as deep sea marine environments. Aluminium is also non-magnetic.

At Action Laser we make a large amount of automotive parts out of Aluminium grades such as:

• Aluminium 5005 – General Fabrication grade
• Aluminium 5083 – Marine structural grade (not as suited to bending)
• Aluminium 6061-T6 – High strength alloy (in imperial sizes only)

Large strong panels can be manufactured which are suprisingly light weight and easy to fabricate or for further processing such as machining and finishing.
